Military tensions between Houthi rebels in Yemen and Saudi Arabia have escalated sharply following coordinated Houthi strikes targeting four key Saudi cities—Abha, Jazan, Najran, and Khamis Mushait. The attacks resulted in injuries to 73 people, including women and children. According to reports, the cross-border strikes targeted critical infrastructure, including Abha Airport, King Khalid Airbase, and facilities belonging to energy giant Aramco. The cross-border assault came just hours after Houthi officials accused Saudi Arabia of conducting an airstrike on a prison facility in the Yemeni city of Al-Hazm. Houthi sources claimed that the prison strike resulted in 11 fatalities, including a child who was visiting his father at the facility alongside his mother. Civil defense officials at the scene noted that 35 inmates, including a woman, were trapped beneath the rubble of the damaged building. In response to the strikes on Saudi territory, Major General Turki Al-Malki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, issued a strong statement condemning the attacks. He affirmed that the coalition will not leave these actions unanswered and promised that necessary military operations would be undertaken to counter the threat.
